I did this image in cinema4D 6 and postwork is done in photoshop inclusive the dof. The lighting is done with a lightrig and some keylights to simulate the sun or highlight lights to fake some reflections. I created the displacements with a realtime plugin, so i got full control over the correct placement of the animals legs. The bugs and antz are rigged for a better placing control. I used textures for the leafs and for the branches only cinemas procedural shader.
